Meet Dr. Gunstad
Dr. John Gunstad is Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University and expert in clinical neuropsychology and sport psychology. He has more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to more than $75 million in externally funded projects, including studies using health interventions to improve brain function, smartphones to detect early Alzheimer's disease, and neuroscience to reduce risk of substance relapse. His research has been featured on ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer and hundreds of print and digital news outlets. Dr. Gunstad is frequently asked to present his research to scientific and community groups, including past lectures at the National Institutes of Health, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Health and Human Services. He serves as Co-Director for both the Kent State University Student Life Study and HERO Initiative and is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students.
